A Deep Dive into the Dandelion Plant-A Tincture Making Class

March 23 @ 12:00 pm 2:00 pm

Imagine the vitality of the humble dandelion, the weed so many love to hate, love to spray with pesticides, pull-out, only to have them come back a few weeks later.  You have that same vitality too, and by consuming this wellness tonic of high repute you can increase that vitality.  A plant with many uses from food, to tonic wine, to potent wellness and anti-cancer remedies.

Ed and Maya Skopal of I-TAL Acres will be leading a workshop which will involve identifying, learning about, and harvesting medicinal plants with a deep dive on the history and folk uses of the dandelion. Workshop participants will make their own tincture from all parts of the dandelion plant ( root, flowers, and greens) and come away with the knowledge of how to make their own tinctures, salves, and infused oils.

About the instructors: Ed and Maya Skopal of I-TAL Acres are skilled herbalists and permaculturists. They operate a medicinal garden and apothecary at their farm in Floyd County, VA where they make a large array of tinctures, salves, and other medicinal products. You can find their products at our farmstore, the Floyd Farmers Market, and directly at their farm! Learn more at https://italacres.com/?page_id=1072
